This standout design features an interesting smocked wrist and waistband, giving the sweater texture and dimension, while geometric motifs decorate the yoke and sleeves for added visual appeal. Originally created using Mary Maxim 4‑Ply Dreamspun, a light sport‑weight yarn that offered 75 yards per 1 oz skein at the time, this cardigan works up with lovely drape and crisp stitch definition. Today, you can explore a wide range of sport‑weight yarn options to recreate the look or customize it to your own style.
Materials List: Size 14 (16, 18) Main color 12 oz (13, 13). Trim color: 1 (2, 2). Also requires knitting needles size U.S. 2 (2.75 mm) and 3 (3.25 mm), and 8 small buttons. Fits sizes 14-16-18—Intermediate knit.
Stitch Requirements: Cast on, cast off, knit, purl, increase, decrease, colour changes using Fair Isle and coloured pattern knitting methods.
