Knit the cardigan from Project Hail Mary, the 2026 sci-fi film starring Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace. Fans have nicknamed it the “fox sweater” for its warm russet and cream colouring, though the original Mary Maxim design is the Wolf Cardigan. Fox or wolf, it is the same classic Mary Maxim style chunky-knit cardigan, available as a complete knit kit.
Each kit includes the bulky weight yarn in the colour you choose, plus the knitting pattern, so you can make the Project Hail Mary fox cardigan yourself from start to finish. Whether you are recreating Ryland Grace’s on-screen look or just want a standout cardigan for the season, this one knits up warm and instantly recognisable.
Zipper not included. Requires needle sizes 5.0 & 6.0 mm. Intermediate Knit.
Stitch Requirements: Knit, purl, slip slip knit, knit front and back post, increase, decrease, Stocking Stitch, colour change.

I use this yarn to make children’s, women’s and men’s socks for the local Foodbank. I choose this yarn as it is nice to work with and it is easy to wash and dry. The people who run the Foodbank are very appreciative of the socks.
I also give some of the socks to the local elementary school. The teacher has told me that the children like and ask for the soft, warm socks.
