Knit a charming set of mittens and matching toque and bonnets with this pattern. Designed using Mary Maxim Northland wool, a bulky-weight yarn that provided 80 yds per 4 oz skein at the time. Shop our bulky yarns to find the perfect colour combination to suit you. Keep in mind that yardages can vary. Fits adults and children—Intermediate knit.
Materials List Women & Girls Mitts:

Knitting needles size 5 (4 mm)

Two 4 oz skeins for each pair of mitts
Knitting needles size 5 (4 mm)
Materials List: Boy's Toque and Mitts
One 4 oz skein for the Toque and one 4 oz skein for the Mitts.
Knitting needles, size 5 (4 mm)
Materials List: Women's & Girl's Toque or Bonnet
One 4 oz skein in each of 3 colours.
Knitting needles size 5 (4 mm)
Stitch Requirements: Cast on, cast off, knit, purl, repeat, increase, decrease, colour changes using the Fair Isle knitting method.

I enjoyed knitting this blanket because it was not boring. Each color change was different and each set of patterns didn't go on too long. It was a pleasure to knit compared to other blankets I've knit. Also it's a nice large size and very soft.

This pattern turned out perfectly. The finished item worked out to the finished measurements and the wool washed and dried beautifully.
I finished it in time for the baby’s arrival.
However I did have a problem starting the pattern….which was my problem and not the directions. I ended up re-writing the directions myself. I could not get my brain around the way the pattern was written…..confusing to me. But once I re-wrote I was up and running.
It is a beautiful baby blanket and I think it will be cherished.
