The first thing you'll notice when you pick up a ball of Starlette Chunky is how incredibly soft this yarn is and it's superior quality. I am just imagining all the beautiful hats and soft, cozy blankets (check out this DIY chunky knit blanket) I'll be making with this yarn to give to some of my favorite people. Starlette Chunky is 100% acrylic yarn and machine wash and dryable making it the perfect yarn for my busy household. It works up quickly, and I am not worried about kids spilling on it or dropping their hat and scarves in the snow on their way to play on the monkey bars. This yarn washes easily with simple and clear instructions and none of the worry like when washing delicate fibers such as wool or alpaca. To wash your handmade items made with Mary Maxim Starlette Chunky, simply wash using the delicate cycle for 2 minutes, then tumble dry using low heat for a maximum of 5 minutes. Super Bulky Yarn
Starlette Chunky is a true super bulky yarn. When knitting a gauge swatch using size 13 (9 mm) needles it achieves 9 stitches and 13 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) in the stockinette stitch, when crocheting a swatch using a size 13 (9 mm) hook, 6 stitches and 6 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) working in single crochet stitches is achieved. Each ball of Mary Maxim Starlette Yarn weighs 3.5 oz (100 g) and is 60 yards (54.864 meters) long.
