Create this loosely fitted cardigan with our easy pattern—perfect with jeans or slacks for an effortless everyday look. Choose colors to suit work or weekend wear and make it your own. Designed with Mary Maxim Twist and Solids, both worsted‑weight yarns, each offering 240 yards per 4-oz skein at the time. Browse our current worsted‑weight selection—especially Mary Maxim Ragg and Starlette Solids—and keep yardage differences in mind as you plan. Fits women sizes 32-34-36-38—Intermediate knit.
Materials List: 32-34 (36-38)
Main colour: Twist 4 (5 skeins)
CC light plain: 2 (3 skeins)
CC dark plain: 70 (70 yds)
Knitting needle sizes: U.S. 5 (3.75 mm) and 7 (4.50 mm).
Stitch Requirements: Cast on, cast off, knit, purl, slip stitch, stockinette stitch, seed stitch, increase, decrease.

This kit has been a dream! I started knitting it after a major injury left me unable to enjoy my usual summertime outdoorsy activities. It was meditative, calming, provided a creative pursuit, a goal to meet, and a task to fill my otherwise impatient healing time. I loved this sweater so much in the film and am so happy to have one. Plus, I made it!
It's my first completed project/first sweater attempt, and I learned many new skills, from pattern reading to colorwork. I was emboldened by the sheer number of others making this sweater, and I figured if I got lost there would be a resources online. The pattern was so well written it was very easy to follow. At one point my pattern got damaged beyond readability and Mary Maxim very kindly sent me a new one.
I've heard some negative comments about the kit not being wool yarn and while I can appreciate the love of wool, having a polyester kit was just the right amount of fool proof for this newbie. I ended up making the '42' and used every bit of white yarn but still had plenty of all the other colors left. However, I will say the difference in material and weight of the white vs colorwork yarn made getting even stitches a real challenge and because of this I no longer like the colorwork yarn and want it to go far away from me. The sweater I will keep forever. Thanks for being my gateway to many more sweaters to come.

Very good yarn for afghans: the weight is easy to work with, the finished product keeps its shape when machine washed. Good range of colours. Has been available in store and online Mary Maxim.
